Helping You Navigate Health Care in Canada ‒ Public or Private.

From long wait times to get a family doctor to long waits for surgery, it can be very difficult to get access to health care in Canada.

That’s why SecondStreet.org created this site.

We wanted to create a place where patients can go to learn how to get the care they need ‒ whether it’s in the public system, or private options in Canada and abroad.

A Website Designed to Help Patients

This site was designed specifically to help patients learn more about accessing care in the public system and private options – in Canada and abroad.

You’ll find everything from links to find a family doctor and emergency room wait times to tips on how to potentially reduce your surgical wait time. For example, did you know you can ask to be put on a cancellation list and potentially receive care sooner?

The site also includes a list of private providers in Canada – facilities where you can pay for a faster knee operation, MRI scan, etc. But there’s also information about writing surgical expenses off on your taxes and firms that can help you find the right surgical provider for you.
